The Memoir Co.

01 — Overview & Mission

A life is not a timeline. It is a set of rooms you can still walk into.

This is the working brand book for The Memoir Co. Everything here is the current agreed position: the words we use, the mark we sign with, the palette, the type and the voice.

The Memoir Co.
Your story. Your words.

The Memoir Co. turns a life into a beautifully written, beautifully bound book — in the person's own words, kept for generations.

Your story. Your words.Memoirs, written and bound.

Elevator pitch

Say it in one breath, in plain words, with no jargon.

The Memoir Co. is a professional ghostwriting and publishing service. We sit with someone, record their story properly, write it in their voice and bind it into a book made to last. Families come to us because the stories are still there and won't always be. Closer to a bespoke bookbinder than a tech service — patient, human, and very good at sentences.

Gift-led shorthand: The gift of a lifetime, in their own words.

Brand values

Five behaviours. If a design or a sentence breaks one of these, it isn't ours.

01

Warm authority

We are the safe pair of hands. Confident enough not to oversell, kind enough to be trusted with a life.

02

Unhurried

Wide margins, long pauses, no countdowns. The space around the words is what tells you they matter.

03

Plain-spoken

Short sentences and real words. No jargon, no deliverables, no talk of content or solutions.

04

Made to last

Navy board, cream uncoated stock, gold foil. Every choice should feel like an object you can hold.

05

Quiet discretion

Someone's life is not marketing material. We ask permission, we protect privacy, we never sensationalise.

Who we speak to

Gift-led, but the subject must feel safe too.

Primary — the gift-giver

Adult children and grandchildren, 40–65. They have meant to do this for years. They need permission to act, and confidence that their parent will be treated with care.

Secondary — the subject

70+, telling their own story. Often modest: “nobody would want to read about me.” Needs reassurance, clarity, and a real human on the phone.

Things this brand never does

  • Sepia, torn paper edges, feather quills, typewriter clichés
  • Countdown urgency or mortality language
  • Stock photography of grinning “seniors”
  • Gradients, drop shadows, glassy UI, or purple
  • AI-generated copy
